ABOUT THE ALBUM:
As a child, my family and I spent summers on the north coast of São Paulo (Brazil) during the 1980s, and my mother always recorded cassette tapes for us to listen to on the road.
She was a rock fan and had great taste in music.
On these tapes she put songs from Pink Floyd's 'Atom Heart Mother', 'Wish You Were Here', 'Animals' and 'The Wall' albums; Deep Purple's 'Fireball', Van Halen's 'Diver Down'; 'Trouble' by Lindsey Buckingham, 'Even in the Quietest Moments' by Supertramp and 'Zenyatta Mondatta' by The Police.

Pink Floyd was cosmic! That profound musical journey, combined with an almost wild landscape of the North Coast of the 1980s, marked me forever.
There was also a specific track from the Police album 'Zenyatta Mondatta' that was my guideline for my sonic concept. This album has a song that marked me for the loose and contemplative chords that were repeated cyclically, creating an atmosphere of hypnotic travel... The song was 'When The World Is Running Down...'. I thought: if I play guitar one day, that's the kind of sound I want to make.

The creation process was as I always use to do: intuitive.
I recorded a jam session with just the drums, playing rhythms and fills freely, without a metronome, repeating them for a few bars. I didn't have any melody or chords in mind.
Then, listening to the rhythms, I tested and added simple chords on the guitar with effects, trying to achieve that contemplative feeling that always inspired me.

And, here I am, after more than 40 years of these trips to the beach with my family (I was between 8 and 12 years old) sketching sound sketches inspired by those magical moments of my childhood, which transported me to other dimensions.

Quando criança, minha família e eu passávamos o verão no litoral norte de São Paulo durante a década de 1980.
Minha mãe sempre gravava fitas cassete para ouvirmos na estrada.
Ela era fã de rock e tinha um ótimo gosto musical.
Nessas fitas, ela colocou músicas como as dos álbuns 'Atom Heart Mother', 'Wish You Were Here', 'Animals' e 'The Wall' do Pink Floyd; 'Fireball' do Deep Purple, 'Diver Down' do Van Halen; 'Trouble' de Lindsey Buckingham, 'Even in the Quietest Moments' do Supertramp e 'Zenyatta Mondatta' do The Police.

Pink Floyd era cósmico! Aquela viagem musical profunda aliada a uma paisagem quase selvagem do Litoral Norte dos anos 1980, me marcaram para sempre.
Havia também uma faixa específica do album 'Zenyatta Mondatta' do Police que foi minha diretriz para meu conceito sonoro. Esse álbum tem uma música que me marcou pelos acordes soltos e contemplativos que repetiam-se ciclicamente, criando uma atmosfera de viagem hipnótica... A música era 'When The World Is Running Down...' . Pensei: se um dia eu tocar guitarra, é esse tipo de som que quero fazer.

O processo de criação foi como sempre faço: intuitivo.
Gravei uma jam session só com a bateria, tocando ritmos e viradas livremente e sem metrônomo, repetindo-os por alguns compassos. Não tinha nenhuma melodia ou acordes em mente.
Depois, ouvindo os ritmos, fui testando e acrescentando acordes na guitarra, buscando alcançar aquele feeling contemplativo que sempre me inspirou.

E, cá estou, depois de mais de 40 anos destas idas à praia com minha família (eu tinha entre 8 e 12 anos) a esboçar rascunhos sonoros inspirados nesses momentos mágicos da minha infância, que me transportavam para outras dimensões.
